All-Stars
All-Star Program
The All-Star program is a more competitive level of play offered at the end of the regular season for players ages 8–12. Teams are formed by tryout, and players are selected based on skill, effort, and overall readiness for tournament play.
Players generally participate at their age level (based on Babe Ruth age guidelines), though 7-year-olds may try out for the 8U team. When possible, we aim to form two teams at each age level.
All-Stars is a great opportunity for players who are looking for a more competitive experience and are ready for the added commitment.
Commitment
All-Stars is a significant time commitment. Teams typically:
- Practice 4–6 days per week, about 2 hours per day
- Begin practices shortly after the regular season ends
Tournaments
All-Star teams participate in tournament play, including:
- Pre-State Tournament (Elk Grove)
- State Tournament (location varies each year)
Teams that win the State Tournament advance to Regionals, with location determined by the host.
Costs
Participation in All-Stars includes additional costs beyond regular season registration, such as:
- Uniforms
- Travel expenses (if applicable)
Many teams organize fundraisers to help cover costs like equipment (bags, helmets) and travel.
